Inspiring Change Every Day with Grace
A Gift From God

I am born with life, yet shaped by will. I write your story without ink or quill. What am I?
Find out …
You don’t choose to be born. You don’t choose your parents, the colour of your skin, or the country you first cried in. But somewhere along the road, life hands you a baton.
What will you do with the life you’ve been given? This question is so critical. Because in it, you become more than a product of your environment; you become an architect of your destiny.
In the Book of Deuteronomy, God lays it bare: “I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life…” That’s not just a religious command. It shows us that even the divine respects the will of a human.
The power to choose is so potent, even Heaven won’t force its hand. You’re not a puppet; you’re a partner in the unfolding of your own life. And that is divine. Yet, why is something so powerful also so heavy?
Because every choice comes with a weight. Not just the weight of choosing the right career, marriage or faith but the hidden ones too. Like the decision to forgive when you’ve been wronged by the closest person or the decision to stay hopeful when everything in you screams to give up.
Life and death lie in our choice, yet choice is never neutral. Even when we delay, avoid, or hand it over to someone else, that too, is a choice. Nature itself testifies, water flows in the direction it is allowed, plants lean into light when given the chance.
And humans? We evolve when we accept the responsibility of our will. We transform not just by what happens to us, but by what we choose in response. This is where true freedom lives not in doing whatever we want, but in knowing why we do what we do.
But let’s not romanticise it, choosing isn’t easy. Sometimes, the right path is the loneliest one. Sometimes, choosing what’s right feels like losing everything. And yet, even pain has purpose when it comes from choosing growth.
History remembers those who dared to choose differently. Their stories remind us: it’s not where you began, but what you choose that makes the difference every single day.
As long as you’re breathing, you still have that gift to choose, to change and to rise. You may not be able to change yesterday. But the choices you make today can redeem it.
