Inspiring Change Every Day with Grace
In His Hands

Having a plan gives you a sense of control, but if you’ve lived long enough, you know how fast control can slip away. It take just one phone call, one unexpected turn and suddenly the perfect roadmap you trusted feels more like scribbles on paper.
No one wishes for it, but dreams can get delayed, opportunities can fall through, and sometimes the very things we think are secure can crumble right under our feet.
You may begin to wonder, did I do anything wrong? Did I miss my way? Or worse, did I waste my time? But Proverbs 19:21 speaks truth into the noise: “Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand.”
This verse doesn’t say planning is useless. In fact, planning shows intention, responsibility, and faith in action. But the weight of the verse lies in the reality that our plans are fragile when compared to God’s purpose.
A plan without purpose is like building a house on sand, strong today, but one storm away from collapse. A plan rooted in God’s purpose, however, is anchored, like a ship tied to a rock. No storm can completely destroy it.
Think of your life like a GPS. You set your destination, but sometimes the road you thought was clear gets blocked. God, like the ultimate navigator, reroutes you, not to punish you, but to keep you aligned with His purpose.
And yea, when God reroutes, it always leads somewhere better, even if the road feels longer or rougher. That’s why people who live with purpose often endure setbacks with grace; they know delays are not denials.
It’s natural to want control because, it feels safe. But the more tightly you grip your plan, the harder it is to let God redirect you. The only control that truly lasts belongs to God, and when you walk in sync with His design for your life, you’ll find peace in the chaos and confidence in uncertainty.
It is true when they say, that people who anchor their goals in meaning or higher purpose experience less stress and greater resilience than those who chase plans without deeper grounding.
So, let your plans be aligned with God’s purpose. That shift takes you from anxiety to assurance, from control to surrender and from uncertainty to confidence, that no matter what twists come, your story is in the hands of the One who never fails.
