The Long Road

You’ll never build a life that matters by only doing what’s easy. People are so obsessed with comfort, they want the easy way to the soft life.

You don’t want risk or pain. But I’m sorry to let you know, the life you want will cost you the life you’re clinging to. Every dream, every breakthrough, every growth spurt has a price. And when you keep choosing what costs you nothing, don’t be surprised when nothing changes.

We live in a time where you can scroll past struggle. Even avoid the hard parts of your own story. But when you keep running from discomfort, you’re also running from growth.

You start trading passion for predictability. Vision for convenience. Calling for calm. It feels safe for a while. But eventually, that comfort zone turns into a cage. The walls get tighter, time moves faster and regret begins to knock.

Jesus warned us to count the cost. Not the cost of following our feelings, but the cost of following Him. The kind of choices He talked about weren’t crowd-pleasers, they were cross-carriers. He said, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me.” Thats real cost for a real change.

Many of us want transformation, but we resist the transaction. We want elevation without endurance. Promotion without preparation. But life doesn’t work like that. You can’t walk into purpose wearing slippers. You need boots for the battle. Sacrifice is the soil where real success grows. Not overnight, not easily, but richly.

Look around. Every long-lasting and meaningful thing you’ve ever admired was built on hard choices. Lasting success will require you to give up sleep. You will walk away from what is easy. Say no to comfort and start saying yes to your true purpose. Because, while the world often claps for results, heaven honours the process.

Don’t fall for the illusion that comfort is king. It’s not. Purpose is, and every time you choose what stretches you, challenges you, even scares you a bit, you’re making a deposit into your future.

You’re saying, I’m not here to float. I’m here to build, and that kind of choice shifts the atmosphere. It moves things, it makes you magnetic to doors you thought were locked.

So today, be honest with yourself and choose the process preordained for you. It’s a long road but the results will endure through the ages.
