Inspiring Change Every Day with Grace
Is God Partial?

You look around and see someone else rising faster, receiving blessings you prayed for, or living a reality you deeply desire. In moments like that, it’s almost natural to wonder, “Does God have favourites?”
If we are honest, this question strikes deep because we all long for fairness. We want to believe that the One who created us all is just, that He doesn’t elevate one and forget another.
Yet the truth is layered. God loves everyone equally, yet He does not deal with everyone in the same way. That is where the tension between equality and equity shows up.
Equality says we all deserve the same treatment, but equity says God gives each one what they truly need, in ways that fit their journey.
Think of the sun. It shines on every roof, but not every crop grows the same way. Some sprout faster, some take longer, some require pruning, and some never bloom.
Does that make the sun unfair? Or does it reveal that life itself is a blend of timing, soil, and nurture? In the same way, God’s hand moves differently in our lives, not because He is partial, but because He is intentional.
History itself bears witness. David was the youngest and least likely among his brothers, yet God chose him as king. Was that favouritism? Or was it divine purpose?
Mary, a teenage girl, was entrusted with carrying Christ, while thousands of women in Israel lived ordinary lives. Paul, once a persecutor, became the greatest preacher of grace. None of these were random.
God is not partial; He is purposeful. His choices may appear biased, but they always carry the weight of destiny.
But here is where the truth pierces our hearts: God’s favour often looks unfair to human eyes. We measure fairness by comparison, but God measures fairness by calling.
He gives to each according to their ability, their capacity, and the assignment written over their lives. It means that sometimes, your season may look slower because you are being prepared for something weightier. What looks like a delay may actually be preservation.
So, is God partial? No. He is just, but not in the shallow way we define justice. He is generous, yet strategic. He is loving, yet wise. He lifts one today to spark hope in another tomorrow.
He blesses one openly to inspire faith in many. His equity is not about giving everyone the same, but about giving everyone the right portion, at the right time, in the right way. That is the heart of a Father who sees beyond today.
If you have ever felt overlooked, remember this: silence does not mean neglect. Delay does not mean rejection. The God who numbers every hair on your head cannot forget your story. He is not partial, He is preparing. And when your time comes, no hand can hold back what is yours.
