Inspiring Change Every Day with Grace
It’s Just One Time…

On that crossroad, you always know that what is about to happen is probably not the best idea and you might regret it later. But somehow, in that instance, your logical reasoning suffers at the mercy of the moment.
It happens so softly, that you barely notice, to even understand how to turn back. Then you suddenly find yourself negotiating with choices you never imagined considering.
You are swooped in by your desires. You probably never asked for it, but temptations can be at the door of any man at any time. You don’t have to be reckless or rebellious to be tempted. You just have to be human.
We all know what it’s like to stand at this intersection, heart racing, brain spinning, wondering if the relief or rush is worth the risk. For some, it’s texting someone they swore they’d cut off. For others, it’s one more swipe of the card, one more lie, one more scroll, one more night, one more click.
The tricky part? Most temptations don’t feel like dangerous decisions. They feel like answers to something you’re lacking.
A lot of people think temptation is about self-control. But it’s deeper than that. Temptation feeds on our unmet needs and inner voids. It offers a shortcut to feeling better, valued, desired, seen, or successful. It’s personal.
What pulls you in might not move someone else. That’s why it’s not enough to say, “Just say no.” You have to know what your “yes” is rooted in. Otherwise, your “no” won’t stand a chance.
This month, we’re peeling back the layers, not to shame the struggle, but to understand it. To name it. To confront it with a little more grace and a lot more honesty. Because the only way to truly resist is to recognize what the temptation is trying to fill, and why we feel empty there in the first place.
The real battleground isn’t the act, it’s the moments before. The lonely nights, the disappointments we don’t talk about, the fear of missing out, the ache for something more.
It’s in those quiet spaces we must learn how to pause, question, and reroute. To remember who we are when no one’s watching. And to trust that we don’t need to self-sabotage to feel something.
Every temptation tells a story of desire, need, longing, or past pain. The question isn’t whether we’ll be tempted. The question is: what do we believe we’re missing, and how can we meet that need in a way that doesn’t harm us?
So if you’re feeling tempted lately, emotionally, mentally, or physically you’re not weak. You’re aware. And awareness is the first step toward freedom. This series is not here to judge but to walk beside you. To ask the hard questions. To sit with the grey. To help us all do a little better, one honest moment at a time.
